CBS Colorado is seeking a talented and driven Reporter to join our Mountain Bureau. If your passion is serving your community through great journalism, then we are the newsroom for you. Key Responsibilities
- Shoot, write and edit packages for daily newscasts
- Strong live shot skills a must
- Generate story ideas and participate in editorial meetings/Produce content for social media and streaming service.
- Report scripted and unscripted, with clarity, accuracy, and confidence/cover breaking news with a sense of urgency
- Conduct compelling in person interviews
- Collaborate effectively with a wide range of personnel to create compelling content/ Develop and execute enterprise content on a consistent basis
- Maintain a steadfast commitment to accuracy and fairness
- Write clearly and interestingly and use video and graphics to illustrate facts and ideas
- Appear at public and station events, as required/Establish and maintain relationships/sources in the community

Qualifications & Requirements
- Three years' experience on air
- College Degree required or equivalent experience
- Must be able to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and have the ability to solve problems quickly
- Must have a very strong social media skills and able to contribute on all platforms
- Demonstrated experience as a professional journalist with strong technical and storytelling skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, holidays & ON CALL shifts
- Residency and or relocation to Summit County required
- Comfortable working solo in remote locations
- Valid driver's license is required

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $70,000.00 - 80,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
