Hearst Magazines is looking for a Temporary Supervising Producer to lead compelling, internet-forward video for Cosmopolitan and Seventeen, bringing fresh ideas and standout creative to audiences across platforms.

Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
• Lead the creative vision and identity for Cosmopolitan and Seventeen video, shaping tone, casting, set design, lighting, graphics, creative prompts, music, and other elements that make each brand and series distinctive.
• Develop and pitch original video franchises and highly shareable formats across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, on-site, and other distribution platforms, partnering with editorial teams to turn timely ideas into compelling visual storytelling.
• Produce and direct video content from concept through distribution, including developing pre-production materials, directing celebrity talent on set, guiding post-production, and collaborating with social teams on platform-specific execution.
• Write creative materials-including loglines, treatments, beat sheets, shot lists, scripts, and pilots-that reflect each brand's voice and support the broader video strategy.
• Collaborate closely with editorial, marketing, sales, production management, and other partners to translate brand priorities into video and develop branded opportunities without compromising editorial voice.
• Guide post-production across story, pacing, graphics, music, color, and other creative elements, applying platform best practices and style guidelines to drive performance.
• Manage multiple productions and programming workflows, including Airtable tracking, freelancer hiring in partnership with production management, budgets, deadlines, and resources.
• Oversee and mentor producers and associate producers as needed, fostering strong collaboration, creative ambition, and consistently excellent work.

Qualifications (What We're Looking For)
• 7+ years of experience in creative video production, ideally with digital-first and celebrity-driven content, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and produce internet-forward, highly engaging video across multiple platforms and formats.
• Experience directing and collaborating with high-profile or A-list talent on set.
• Strong creative instincts and a keen eye for visual storytelling, with the ability to generate original ideas and experiment with emerging formats.
• Deep understanding of the production process, including show development, treatments, pilots, shoots, and post-production.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, budgets, and deadlines in a fast-moving production environment.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire excellent work and collaborate effectively across teams.
• Experience creating branded content is preferred.
• This role is based in New York City and requires working in the office four days per week as part of our hybrid work model.

The hourly rate for this role is $55-$65 per hour. This position is not eligible for bonus or commission compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

• Oversee creative identity of each brand and series, including but not limited to video tone, casting, set design, lighting, graphic design, creative prompts, music selection, etc
• Pitch ideas and create new video franchises across content verticals (On-Site, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok), working with the editorial team to identify opportunities that will translate into compelling video storytelling
• Lead team in brainstorming and developing innovative and shareable multi-platform series formats and creative concepts
• Write and produce creative aligned with brand voice and overall video strategy
• Write log lines, treatments, beat sheets, shot lists, and scripts for new and current programming
• Work closely with the brand teams to translate the editorial vision into video, while keeping video mandates and strategy at top of mind
• Produce video content from conception through distribution (including curating pre-production documents, directing on set, working through post and working closely with social teams for distribution)
• Work closely with marketing team to develop series for sales while staying true to brand voice
• Direct celebrity talent on set for premium video
• Book/hire freelancers as needed for various projects with PM
• Manage programming via Airtable
• Manage post-production (give notes and feedback on various edits including story, pacing, GFX, music, color etc.)
• Implement best practices and style guides to ensure maximum performance
• Manage budget with PM team to maximize resources for creating new content
• Oversee a team of producers/APs when necessary

Salary Details
Salary Range: $55.00 to $65.00 Per Hour ($ USD)
