Who are we hiring?
The Senior Accountant supports Sphere Corporate Accounting in day-to-day operations, as well as monthly and quarterly accounting close. This position has on-going financial support to various Corporate departments. Responsibilities also include journal entries, account reconciliations, and support for the VP Corporate Accounting.
What will you do?
• Provide timely and detailed monthly/quarterly Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss account analysis as assigned, including substantiation of account balances; recommend adjusting journal entries, where needed.
• Prepare journal entries related to bonuses, severance/restructuring, professional fees for significant/unusual transactions, pensions, legal matters and other corporate accruals; prepare monthly/quarterly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly results reports for various Corporate Departments.
• Support Tax, External Audit and Internal Audit requests by assisting with preparation and providing supporting documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve company-wide utilization of financial systems to enhance accuracy and timeliness of reporting.
• Partner with Finance to ensure accurate account balances and resolve reconciling items.
• Support Corporate Accounting group day-to-day activities. Assist to ad hoc projects in an accurate and timely manner, as assigned.
• This position does not directly supervise any employees but may occasionally provide supervision to student associates.
• Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.
What do you need to succeed?
• BS or BA required (preferred degree is Accounting/Finance, or related discipline)
• Minimum 2 to 3 years public accounting experience in a large sized / ''Big 4'' firm preferred but not required and/or in a large corporate environment
• CPA preferred
• Strong understanding of monthly close process
• Heavy exposure to financial statements, account analyses and reconciliations
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and challenging environment
• Ability to interact with cross functional groups
• Strong spreadsheet skills (Excel), as well as strong writing and communication skills
• Ability to be flexible, work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Willingness to work overtime as needed
• Ability to evaluate processes and recommend/implement more efficient practices and procedures

Pay Range
$75,000 - $110,000 USD
